The criteria for manufacturing materials are quality, durability and lightness. Vorssa Ink earrings are big and impressive, but light and comfortable to wear. 

Quality and domesticity play an important role in the production of Vorssa Ink jewellery. All accessories, packaging materials and jewellery parts are sourced from Finland, from Finnish importers and subcontractors, as far as possible. 

The jewellery is made of acrylic, domestic wood and polymer mass. Hooks, pins and rings are made of safe and non-allergenic surgical steel. Find out more about the materials and manufacturing methods below!

Surgical interventions 

All our metal jewellery components, such as hooks, pins and rings are 100% surgical steel. Surgical steel does not cause nickel sensitivity or allergies and does not contain cadmium or lead. The parts have been tested in Finland using the XRF method. 

Surgical steel is a high-quality, durable and long-lasting material. The material will not warp, nor will the parts darken or change colour, but will remain bright. Surgical steel is ecological not only because of its longevity, but also because of its recycling properties. The material is recyclable as scrap metal and can be reused as a raw material.

How and where to store your earrings
Gorgeous earrings deserve to be displayed and stored with dignity. A jewellery box or an earring holder are good options. This way your jewellery will stay beautifully organised in its own place. It's a good idea to keep your earrings separate from each other. Jewellery that is free to rotate on the bottom of the box is more prone to wear and tear, scratching the surface of the jewellery and causing metal parts to twist or cling to each other. Mirrored acrylic in particular is susceptible to scratching if metal parts rub against the surface of the acrylic. You should also avoid storing your jewellery in direct sunlight, as UV radiation can fade the colour of your earrings.



Cleaning your earrings - how and with what?
Cleaning is an important part of earring care. The metal parts can be cleaned with mild soapy water and a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals, such as abrasive cleaners, which can damage the surface and materials of your jewellery. Any fingerprints on the surface of the earrings can be easily cleaned with a dry microfibre cloth, for example.
Avoid
Swimming, bathing and showering

Avoid exposing your jewellery to excessive moisture such as swimming, bathing or showering. Excessive moisture can weaken the structure of jewellery and cause long-term damage. So remember to take your jewellery off before doing these things.

Sleeping with your jewellery on

Take your earrings off when you go to bed too. Sleeping with earrings on can cause the jewellery to twist and can catch on bedding. So avoid sleeping with earrings on and store them during the night, for example in an earring holder or jewellery box.

Chemicals (such as cosmetics, perfume and hairspray)

Also avoid exposing earrings to chemicals such as cosmetics, perfume or hairspray. Chemicals can damage the surface of the jewellery and weaken the materials. It is therefore advisable to wear your jewellery last. So, put the lying down first and the earrings as a final touch!
